Sandra Hall

Biography

I was born in India in 1950. My parents were coffee planters in a hill station in the Shevaroy Hills. I went to Convent School in Kodaikanal until 1960 when we left for Ireland. After Indian independence I attended a girls school in Blackrock, County Dublin. We then left Ireland for Perth in 1965. Where I went Penrhos College. After school I attended WAIT [now Curtin University] and got an Assoc.Dip in Graphic Design then taught high school art in various country towns before doing a SA in Fine Arts in 1980. I went back to primary art teaching and some TAFE part-time. WA museum contracts came up and had contracts came up and had contracts from approx 1999 to 2005.

Artist Statement

I have worked with Lino releif print, currently using a dremel along with a variety of hand cutters. I also etch [lino] apply layered blocks for each colour and do reduction method. I only use water based inks and transparent medium. I like natural history subjects and landscape.
